LUMEN
"Guided by Mary and the Saints Towards Christ"
LUMEN is our new Catholic Faith Formation program designed especially for children in 4th–6th grades who have already received the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion) Rather than preparing for another sacrament, LUMEN focuses on helping young disciples continue to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and live the faith they have already received.
Through engaging catechesis, prayer, Scripture, the lives of the saints, and meaningful discussions, children will deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith while learning how to live it each day. Guided by the Blessed Virgin Mary and inspired by the witness of the saints, participants will discover how the grace of the Sacraments continues to strengthen them for a lifetime of discipleship.
LUMEN encourages children to:- Deepen their friendship with Jesus through prayer and the Eucharist.
- Grow in knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith.
- Learn from the lives and virtues of Mary and the saints.
- Develop a lifelong love for the Mass and the Sacraments.
- Practice Christian virtue and serve others with joy.
- Build lasting friendships within a vibrant Catholic community.

Program Details and Requirements
- Parents must attend the mandatory meeting on September 1 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. No children, please.
- Classes are held Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and parents are invited to participate in the parent group in Smith Hall.
- Families are asked to be inside the church before 6:00 p.m. for communal prayer.
- The Faith Formation Office communicates through text messages, email, and voicemail. Please ensure contact information is accurate and monitored regularly.
As part of learning to live our faith, families are expected to:
- Participate regularly in Sunday Mass.
- Participate in parish and Faith Formation events (a calendar will be provided at the parent meeting).

Required Documents
- Required documentation must be submitted no later than October 1.
- Copy of child's Baptism Certificate
- Copy of child's First Communion Certificate
- Copy of child's Confirmation Certificate

Fees:
- Fee is $80 per child, and it includes all the material they will need for the class and cost of retreats.
- We will be providing Bibles for the classes but if your child has a favorite Bible he/she wants to bring to the class, please he/she is welcome to do so!
